• CAE's Defense and Security business unit focuses on helping prepare military customers to develop and maintain the highest levels of mission readiness. CAE USA, located in Tampa Florida, is part of CAE's Defense and Security business unit with specific responsibility for serving the United States, South America and select international markets.

    CAE USA includes over 1,000 employees and is the largest segment within CAE's Defense and Security business unit. The organization leverages the full breadth of CAE's capabilities, technologies and solutions and provides simulation products, training services and training centers that contribute to the preparedness and readiness of United States and allied warfighters. 

    CAE USA is a U.S. corporation that operates under a Special Security Agreement (SSA) with the U.S. Department of Defense. As a U.S. corporation operating under an SSA, CAE USA has its own U.S. board of directors that monitors and oversees all company activities related to classified and export-controlled information, security procedures, and company management. The President and General Manager of CAE USA reports directly to the CAE USA Board of Directors.

    CAE C-130 Tampa Training Center 

    CAE owns and operates a comprehensive training center in Tampa, Florida for operators of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft (also called the C-130/L-382 as a commercial variant). CAE's C-130 Tampa Training Center offers bilingual (English/Spanish) aircrew and maintenance courses in 17 state-of-the-art classrooms. At the heart of the training center is three C-130H full-mission simulators and a C-130H flight training device, which have been used by more than 30 different operators to train aircrews and maintenance personnel. The company has almost 30 years' experience in training the United States Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard, as well international military and commercial operators who fly the venerable Hercules aircraft.

    CAE USA has achieved the CMMI Level 3 rating specifically for product development. CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.  An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates an organization has processes that are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization's set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
